THE GREEN PARTY OF RUSSIA WELCOMES YOU!
The Green Party of Russia has more than a 10 year long
history.
First it emerged as “Kedr” constructive ecological movement of Russia
in 1992 when a group of scientists and ecologists decided to combine
their efforts to protect environment and human beings from negative
aspects of civilization. Soon the movement got wide support from
the population in many regions of Russia and became a national political
stream.
Today the Green Party of Russia has its branches in 58 regions of
the country and numbers more than 12 thousand members.
Major aims and goals of the party are coherently
clear to any Russian citizen:
- To lay the legislative basis for environmental protection in
Russia,
- To provide decent conditions of living for all Russian peoples,
to establish advanced health system and social security,
- To ensure ecological studies and education,
- To start implementing recently adopted Ecological Doctrine
of Russia in all its aspects.
- To protect animals, birds, rare species from annihilation,
- To introduce energy saving and other high tech technologies
in industry and agriculture.
- To organize proper cooperation between state institutions and
public organizations in ecological projects, public health and
security.
Except for the parliamentary elections in 1993, where
the Greens participated as a political movement “Kedr”, REP “The
Greens” as a political party, took part in the parliamentary elections
three times (in 1995, 1999 and 2003). Before the last elections
the Greens rating was 3-4%, but taking in to consideration the specifics
of the State Duma election campaign , the Greens received only 240.000
votes (0,42%)
REP ”The Greens” participate in elaboration of the Russian Ecological
Doctrine, under orders of the Russian President V.Putin.
“The Greens”, in cooperation with the movement “Kedr”, the Russian
Union of the Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and other scientific,
industrial, legislative, governmental, political structures, is
a unique party in the county, which is trying to achieve the Kyoto
Protocol ratification during 5 years.
In 2001 under the initiative of thе рarty an International public
organization " The Youth Ecological Forum " was created.
In 2002 in Moscow was founded “the Russian Ecological Independent
Expertise”.
In November 2003 in Moscow the party and movement “Kedr" organized
the first children's ecological movement “The Green Planet ".
The publication of the children movement is a magazine “Cheerful
bear cubs”.
The main priority of the Russian Greens is nature protection
and human beings safety.
Unlike many other parties of Russia the Greens declare clearly their
topical political principles which are creativity, independence,
openness and ecological awareness.
The party doesn’t oppose itself to the state considered as necessary
a combination of constructive cooperation and public environmental
control.
The Green Party of Russia is becoming more and more influential
force in the political life of Russia and gathering wider public
and international support. Its motto is as follows:
